The Sky's Betrayal
Christy Wise, Georgetown University
The sky was the wrong color today.
It was not supposed to be
the agate blue of your eyes.
Each time I looked up into its ubiquity,
I felt lost.
Just as I am lost to you now.
Just as I lost myself in the
ocean depth of your eyes,
so many times.
The anonymity of a gray sky
suits me much better.
